ISLAND TIME QUESTIONS

I sometimes receive the question: Hey Dr. Keith, why should patients come see you around the age of 7?

The American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) recommends that patients that have reached the age of 7 have an orthodontic evaluation. This doesn't mean that treatment is needed at that time, however it allows an Orthodontic specialist to see how the mouth is growing and make suggestions on if treatment will be needed or if "we just need to monitor things" while the patient grows. Honestly, it allows us to provide great information to the patient and parent so that we can plan for the future...and planning for the future is always a good thing.

Keep the vibes good.

Dr. Keith
